Everyday thousands of web site visitors are 'tricked' into believing they are at a specific web site when in fact they have been re-directed to a fake web site.  When this happens it is very easy to give personally identifying information including social security numbers, credit card numbers, name, phone, etc.  These sites lack "Authenticity".

Additionally, some sites utilizing 'Paid Placement' advertising simply setup shop on a Monday and disappear on a Friday collecting tens of thousands of dollars worth of credit card  and electronic check transactions leaving their "customers" without any recourse. These sites lack "Longevity".

Assuming that the sites you visit are Authentic and have Longevity -- site visitors should always ensure that the site has a "Privacy Policy".  This informs the site visitor what information, if anything, the site collects about you and how they intend on using it.  If they don't have one then those sites lack "Privacy".

Assuming that the sites you visit are "Commerce Sites", meaning that they sell products or services -- do they have an easy and intuitive way to request support and help when you need it?  Are there links to "Customer Service", Contact Us or Help information.  If not, what will you do when your order gets messed up?  Look for the Site Assurance Seal!
